SANI-ITA employs Spatial Modeler Functions to create and run models for image processing and GIS analysis. Very sophisticated multi-step analysis models are constructed by our staff using ERDAS IMAGINE Spatial Modeling Language. Input to SANI-ITA models includes raster and vector layers, matrices, tables and scalars. The modeling process employs a variety of mathematical, statistical, Boolean, neighborhood, and other functions, plus input objects defined by SANI-ITA, to write a function definition. The modeling process enables SANI-ITA to write application specific models that serve to extract information from complex datasets thereby allowing the Corporation to respond quickly, for example, to GIS environmental and demographic issues such as site selection, erosion prediction and site vulnerability due to natural occurrences.
