Georeferencing

SANI-ITA employs georeferencing in all its projects. For the updating of existing data bases or the creation of new data sets, data (raster and vector) needs to be georeferenced, either for use in the 2D/3D feature extraction or for classification, planning, inventory, etc. SANI-ITA provides a wide range of georeferencing techniques, from basic affine transformation to rigorous bundle adjustment. Particular cases can be efficiently solved, e.g. linear transformations (orthorectification of aerial photography where interior orientation is not available) or projective transformations (orthorectification of satellite imagery where no ephemeris is available).The geometric models that are supported range from cameras (photogrammetric or hand-held, scanned or digital, still or video), pushbroom sensors (predefined - IKONOS, OrbView-3, Quickbird, SPOT, etc. or generic) and Rational Functions (DPPDB, IKONOS, NITF, ORBIMAGE, QuickBird) to mixed sensors, rigorously adjusted in a photogrammetric block or independently processed as single frames.
