3D Stereo Monitor Support for ERDAS ProductsThis resource provides SANI-ITA customers with instructions for getting their 3D Stereo Monitor solution up and running. Please visit any link below to navigate to the instructions for your particular 3D Stereo hardware.
True3Di Instructions for ATI /AMD FirePro Graphics Cards
True3Di monitors have been tested for use in within SANI-ITA's 3D CAD / GIS / Softcopy Photogrammetry production workflows with ATI / AMD FireGL V8700 and V8750 graphics cards. These cards provide the quad-buffered stereo capabilities leveraged by various ERDAS products to provide a 3D Stereo environment for the end-user.
In order to see 3D Stereo, the following settings must be applied in AMD / ATI Catalyst configuration manager:

True3Di Instructions for NVidia Quadro Graphics Cards
True3Di monitors have been tested for use in within SANI-ITA's 3D CAD / GIS / Softcopy Photogrammetry production workflows with Nvidia Quadro 4600 graphics cards. These cards provide the quad-buffered stereo capabilities leveraged by various ERDAS products to provide a 3D Stereo environment for the end-user.
In order to see 3D Stereo, the following settings must be applied in Nvidia Control Panel configuration manager:
First: Ensure that the True3Di Monitor is configured in "Clone Mode" as illustrated below. These settings are found in the preference pane available in the Nvidia Control Panel under 'Display' -> 'Set up Multiple Displays'. If you have multiple graphics cards installed, make sure that the correct graphics card is selected. In the example below we have selected the Quadro FX 4600 Graphics Card. Make sure that 'The same on both displays (Clone)' option is also selected. The third setting must ensure that the Spinel 1 + Spinel 2 of the graphics card selected (and attached to the True 3Di monitor) are selected for the 'Clone mode'.

Second: Ensure that the 3D Settings are configured correctly as illustrated below. These settings are found in the preference pane of the Nvidia Control Panel under 'Manage 3D Settings'. In our example we edit the 'base profile' to set 1) 'Stereo-Display Mode' to 'nView Clone Mode' and 2) 'Stereo enable' to 'on'.

Once you accept both changes, you can proceed to view use your 3D capable ERDAS products in 3D Stereo Mode.
NVidia 3D Vision Kit Instructions for NVidia Quadro Graphics Cards
The Nvidia 3D Vision Kit and Alienware OptX AW2310 120Hz monitors (as well as legacy CRT 120Hz capable monitors) have been tested for use in within SANI-ITA's 3D CAD / GIS / Softcopy Photogrammetry production workflows with Nvidia Quadro 4600 graphics cards. These cards provide the quad-buffered stereo capabilities leveraged by various ERDAS products to provide a 3D Stereo environment for the end-user.
